Bangladesh Bamboo, Cane & Mat Crafts Foundation's referred to as Bamboo Handicrafts, is a handicraft sector that produces artwork crafted by hand from bamboo. Our Bangladeshi cultural history is linked to the bamboo industry. Our handloom and handicraft manufactures were widespread throughout the world in the past, but as modernity grew, all of the industries that were a part of our daily lives gradually disappeared, and the labor of mechanizing handicrafts took over.
Our goal is to revitalize the Bangladesh bamboo sector by supporting micro, small, and medium-sized bamboo product manufacturing business models, entrepreneurship, product development, and the food industry. Our goal is to revitalize the bamboo industry that has grown in Bangladesh. To do this, we want to support micro, small, and medium-sized bamboo product manufacturing business models, encourage product development, and feed the food industry while taking market demand into consideration. By doing this, we can all work together to create bamboo art in Bangladesh. The most noteworthy aspect is that the environment is ideal and completely eco-friendly with nature, which has become vital in the modern world.
Bamboo, cane, and mat crafts beautifully combine nature and artistry. Artisans skillfully shape bamboo and cane into elegant furniture, baskets, and decorative pieces, using techniques passed down through generations. These materials are not only strong and flexible but also environmentally friendly, making them perfect for sustainable living. Mat weaving adds another layer of creativity, as thin strips of bamboo, cane, or other natural fibers are woven into colorful and intricate patterns. These crafts do more than serve practical purposes—they represent the cultural identity, tradition, and craftsmanship of the communities that create them.
